Vikings occupied about half of what is today, England, from 866-1067. They farmed and ran small industries working in wood, iron stone and glass. With a history of conquest and plunder, jewelry was an important part of their culture and this ring was produced in the English settlement of York which they called Jorvik. Excavations in the 1970s and 80s revealed a great deal of information about Viking culture and manufacturing.Size 7 1/4 (17.7mm). Most often wedding rings were worn on the small finger. Nice golden color over bronze and an attractive wearable ring.
