Berliner Pilsner is a beer brand of the Radeberger Group and is manufactured alongside other brands in the Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss brewery.
Berliner Pilsner was founded in 1902 and established as a small brewery with an adjoining garden restaurant.
The GDR in 1963, developed Berliner Pilsner and established it as one of the most widespread of East Berlin traditional beers. Even Erich Honecker was supplied with the Berliner Pilsner.
Except for the domestic market of the GDR, it was produced for export to Bulgaira, the UK and the USA.
