Dust cover missing, otherwise book is in very good condition (possibly no dustjacket was issued). Great stories, great illustrations - part of Random Houses Modern Library.
Many Thurber stories have been adapted to the screen. Perhaps best know is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (featured in this volume), the class film made in 1947 with Danny Kaye, Virginia Mayo and Boris Karloff. Apparently there is a remake in the works for release in 2009, but no details have been released.
A 1969 TV series titled My World & Welcome To It featured characters based on Thurbers writings starred William Windom. As I recall, the show had Thurbers illustrations worked in throughout episodes.
