Roger Chapelain-Midy Hand signed and numbered 28/150 LithographPrinted on High Quality Arch paper-Water Mark photo attachedRoger Chapelain-Midy - was born in Paris in August 1904 and was apainter and theatre designer. Chapelain-Midy trained at L’Ecole des Beaux-Artsand also in the atelier Cormon. After being released from theaccomplishedmilitary service in Rhenanie, Chapelain-Midy enrolled at the Academie deMontparnasse. In1927 he exhibited at the Salon de Automne and became a memberin the same year. After 1929, Chapelain-Midy’s work could be found at the SalondesIndependents as well as at the Salon des Tuileries.His work was exhibited widely. Amongst others heexhibited atthe Exposition d’Art Francais de Londres in1938; the VeniceBiennale in 1937; Exposition d’Art Francais deBruxelles,Berlin, Amsterdam andNamur in 1938; Aarhus (Denmark), Bucharest, Buenos-Aires,Chicago andNew Yorkin 1939; Lisbon and Barcelona in 1942 and Madrid in 1943
