Antique Akoya Pearl Necklace Long Double Strand Art Deco Vintage 24 Inch c.1920

An Exceptionally Gorgeous Antique Genuine Japanese Akoya Pearl Double Strand Necklace, Art Deco, c.1920, With Fine Hand Engraved Silver Clasp with Pearl Accent. The necklace is composed of 205 genuine cultured akoya ocean pearls. They are genuine salt water Akoya ocean pearls from a wonderful estate collection. The pearls are fine quality with matched color and a creamy white luster. It is quite a process to find as many beautifully matched, round graduated pearls as seen here in this piece. The Mikimoto pearl company often times sold their extra pearls to other pearl companies in Japan. Given the history of these pearls and the high quality, this may very well have been the case. The pearls are graduated from approximately 3 to 7mm. The longer strand measures approximately 24 inches in length from clasp to pearl end and the shorter is about 23 inches long. They date circa 1920 and in lovely estate condition.
