Antique Australian Moonstone Opal Necklace Vintage 9CT Gold Victorian Art Deco c.1930

An Exceptional Antique Australian Opal Necklace, Vintage Silver Topped 9CT Gold with White Sapphires, Victorian - Art Deco Period, circa 1930's. This is one of the most beautiful necklaces that I have come across in a long while. The necklace holds eight genuine Australian Opal gemstones, each measuring about 6 x 7mm oval. They are beautifully translucent with flashes of color. Opals of this variety are sometimes referred to as moonstone opals because of their luminous quality. It displays beautiful natural colors in the light. The opals is set in 9CT yellow gold as tested. Between the opals are white sapphires set in silver topped gold. The pendant portion measures about 1 inch long by about 5/16 inch wide. The entire necklace is about 13 1/2 inches long, chain could be added at the back to make it longer if you wanted to have this done. This necklace dates circa 1930's and is in lovely vintage condition. This pieces was acquired through a local estate collection and is a rare find.
