The origin of this kukri is small village is eastern Nepal called Chainpur. The specialty of this kukri is that it has close notch and different handle than other kukris. The Kukri named Chainpure is given after its village name where this Kukri is made. The Kaamis (Craftsmen) of Chainpur village (which is situated in Eastern part of Nepal) is specialized such decorative Kukri. The scabbard is made of Rose wood. It is simple working as well as decorative knife with a fancy scabbard that has carving by hand. The blade is made of highly graded carbon Steel. The scabbard is completely different than others. The beautiful handle is made of Rose wood and well carved. This is one of the decorative and real working knife. A whole (notch) in the blade is a symbol of footmark of the cow which is believed holy in Nepal. The kukri has 6”long blade and 4.5” long handle. This blade can be used to chop wood and bone and cleaning bushes. The Blade, Handle, Sheath and even small knives called Karda and Chakmak are high-end finished.
