A rare vintage find for gentlemen. A 1950s man's double silk coat scarf that looks like the one Cary Grant wore in The Bishop's Wife. This is very nice silk: soft, supple and luxurious. Welch Margetson & Co. Ltd. made high quality silk accessories for men. The color is navy printed with tiny dots in a pinkish red somewhere between fushia and magenta. This is repeated in a 2 inch decorative band at each end of the scarf. The scarf measures 53 by 11.5 inches. All seams are on the inside. Condition is superior vintage. Most likely it spent its life neatly folded in a drawer.
