Rare Antique Georgian Style Victorian Bloodstone Intaglio Roman God Mercury

An Exquisite Antique Georgian Style Victorian Bloodstone Hand Carved Intaglio Cameo Ring Depicting Roman God Mercury in Gold, Late Victorian Era circa 1920, Neo-Classic. This fine antique piece is made of hand carved bloodstone and antique gold. The period of the early 20th Century was filled with Neo Classic styles that were revived from antiquity, including Greek and Roman classic designs. The influence came from excavations of ancient ruins that were done around this time. The ring holds a piece of bloodstone measuring about 7 x 7mm, that had been hand carved by Italian artisans 100 years ago. The portrait cameo depicts a beautifully carved Roman God of Mercury. The setting is composed of antique yellow gold. This piece measures about 3/8 inch long by about 11/16 inch wide from side to side. Ring Size: about 6 (could be resized by your local jeweler or ask me about using mine before placing the order and shipping). The piece dates circa 1920 and is in lovely vintage condition.
