RG “Russian Guitar” Acoustic guitar, 7-string, Doff
Russian seven-string guitar, so popular in the early 20th century, and so undeservedly forgotten in the late 20th century. The seven-stringed guitar almost disappeared in the 90s, there were almost no teachers left, and the general enthusiasm for rock, jazz, and blues made the seven-stringed Russian guitar unclaimed.
In 2012, it was decided to revive the seven-string guitar exactly as it was conceived by the outstanding Russian masters Ivan Yakovlevich Krasnoshchekov, Julius Henry Zimmerman, Ivan Andreevich Batov.
The basis was taken on a guitar model of 1887 from the Zimmerman factory and a real Russian seven-string guitar was created, with a massive maple body, screw fastening of the neck, a significant dome of the upper and lower decks. And most importantly, it was possible to get exactly that “crystal-iridescent” sound of a seven-string guitar.
