The bottom has the green marking Currier & Ives "The Old Grist Mill' Underglaze Print by Royal Made in U.S.A. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or grazing.
The Currier & Ives pattern is one of the most famous patterns produced by The Royal China Company. The Royal China Company operated from 1934 to 1986 out of Sebring, Ohio producing over 1,000 dinnerware patterns. The Currier & Ives pattern consists of different scenes based on Currier & Ives prints for the different dinnerware pieces. Royal produced this pattern from around 1950 through 1970. The Royal China Company was sold to Jeannette Glass around 1970 and this pattern was discontinued.
