IOOR (plus 2 local cachets) - 1938 Constitution Ratification (#835) FDC - Pair
Description: Nice First Day Cover bearing a pair of the 1938 Ratification of the Constitution 150th Anniversary 3¢ commemorative stamp (Sc. #835).
Postmarked: MC - Philadelphia, Pa. - June 21, 1938
Cachet: Front: Tricolor Ioor design giving the "Roll Call By States", which lists the date that each state ratified the Constitution.
Back: Two rubber-stamped cachets, a purple one in the shape of the Liberty Bell, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Constitution Commemoration Committee, and a reddish one with stylized eagles at the upper corners, sponsored by S. Davis Wilson, Mayor.
Condition: Generally neat and clean, but with a large brown glue stain smear at the lower right, apparently from a primitive address label that fell off long ago.. The back flap is sealed.
