As the parent of a child with autism, I am well aware of the time and effort it takes us (parents and families) to be advocates for these children and to make sure they have what they need. Whoever came up with the idea of using pictures for communication was brilliant! As a computer programmer and amateur photographer, I have spent many weeks working on communication images for my daughter. From my conversations with other parents, I have learned that many parents would love to get involved with creating communication books for their children but they either do not have the time or don’t know where to begin!
