Albert Smith The Struggles and Adventures of Christopher Tadpole At Home and Abroad is for sale. This is the first edition book published by Richard Bentley and illustrated by John Leech (1817-1864). This antiquarian book has a contemporary binding that measures 5¾ x 8¾ inches (approximately).

The binding has marbled boards to the front and back of the book with a leather binding and corners, with the spine having a red label with gilt lettering and gilt compartments to the spine. The antiquarian binding is in Very Good condition being complete but with wear to the leather.

There are 512 numbered pages with the frontispiece of a portrait of Albert Smith and 32 full page illustrations by Leech that are present as per the list of illustrations. It should be noted an errata point for the list of illustrations with one of the illustrations in the list that has been listed out of order with the listing going from page 46 to page 54 then to page 46. The pages are in exceptionally clean condition with foxing present that is light.
