This is a Flow Blue soup bowl in the “Le Pavot” pattern. It was made by W. H. Grindley & Co. of England. Approximate date of manufacture is 1896. Diameter: 7 5/8 inches. This bowl has a glaze flake on the bottom edge of the bowl and several tiny glaze flakes on the rim, the worst of which I have photographed. Also, there are some knife marks in the center, but no chips, cracks or crazing. The Flow Blue dinnerware from this period was considered more utilitarian than precious at the time. (#5019J-AO)
