This is a pair of high sherbets, or champagnes, in the 'English Hobnail' pattern by Westmoreland Glass Co. They are crystal in color and have round bases. They were meticulously handmade and resembles cut glass. The rims have a plain band and are gracefully flared. Height: 4¾ inches (12.07 cm); diameter of rim: 4 inches (10.16 cm). One stem has a small scratch on the plain rim band 1/8 in. (.317 cm) long; see photo #4. Other than that both pieces are in excellent condition! This line of stems and tumblers easily fits beside any set of china. Price is for both. (#32285-Y)
English Hobnail was first produced in 1917 and quickly became very popular. The height of production came in the '20s and '30s, although the pattern continued into the '70s.
