Cut Crystal Dish with Intaglio Pterocentaur Centaur + Pegasus

This cut glass dish has as it's center decoration an intaglio-cut Pterocentaur. It has the upper body of a man and the lower body of a winged horse. He aims a bow and arrow and stands on a 'slab of marble', as an ancient Greek statue would have done. A deep cut circle separates the base from the curved sides, which are also deep cut. The dish has a ground and bevel-cut top edge, a sign of quality. The last three photos are of the dish upside-down (centaur image facing backwards). Diameter: 5¾ inches; depth: 7/8 inch.
