This is a Nippon hand painted porcelain plate from the 1920's. Featured are white and yellow flowers that look like dogwood but have five petals. There are also purple buds and stems for accent - all on a dark green ground. The glaze has a matte finish. The rim is gold trimmed and beaded, and each flower is outlined in gold. Marked, “Hand Painted/ (M in wreath)/ Nippon” (Japan) in green. Diameter of plate: 7 5/8 inches (19.4 cm). Condition is very good with one tiny firing flaw near the bottom, and next to that a few tiny areas of paint loss (all at about 5 o'clock). This condition is reflected in the price. (#39342-A+)
