MON CH. DENIA Victorian Trade Card - "Patagonie" (Patagonia) - Sports & Pastimes
Description: Victorian Trade Card - "Patagonie" (Patagonia) - MON CH. DENIA, Paris
Colorful French card depicting a few of the leisure activities supposedly found in Patagonia in the late 19th Century. This design is essentially the same as the one used in the "Sports & Pastimes of All Nations" series issued by the Arbuckle Bros. Coffee Co. in 1893 (reputedly drawn by Frances Brundage, but not signed). It features panther hunting, egg stealing, and playing with flamingoes.
The back advertises Mon Ch. Denia, which appears to have been a paint and hardware store located in Paris.

Condition: Good, I'd say. This card has moderately worn edges and corners, and a bit of a dent, perhaps from a small paperclip, in the top edge. The front is only lightly soiled, but the back has several large glue stains and a small piece of tape at the top center, coinciding with the dent. (Please see scans.)
