Eriosyce setosiflora Family: Cactaceae. Sometimes called Neochilenia heinrichiana var. setosiflora. A beautiful dark purple cactus with short spines. Like most Eriocyse, this species forms a tap root . Flowers are yellow to light orange. Requires general cactus care, but be careful not to overwater as tap rooted species are more sensitive to rot. Protect from frost, though it is said to be able to withstand light frost. Plant needs good light to maintain the dark purple color, but be careful not to expose it to a lot of direct summer sun.
