Luftwaffe Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen

A First Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen; Measuring 475 mm, this dagger features a 305 mm nickel-plated steel blade, with unsharpened edges, remaining bright and crisp, having a semi-sharp tip. The blade's reverse ricasso is maker marked Carl Eickhorn, Solingen with the company's later period squirrel insignia, along with an inverted eagle insignia stamped above. It retains its crossgraining, in addition to faint scratches overall, common to extraction and return to the scabbard, natural shine, in near extremely fine condition. The blue leather washer at the crossguard junction remains supple, with an angular crease. The fittings are nickel plated, exhibiting dark patinas.
