Pine Forest Creek Landscape Painting Vintage Southern Oil Board Signed W Horton
Welcome! Presenting a vintage oil on Masonite type board Southern US landscape painting featuring a pine flatwoods forest with a creek running through it, with a sandy shore and rock formations. It is signed on the lower right "W. Horton". The time of day looks to be mid morning, with a mist or low fog burning off to a lovely blue sky and white clouds above the pine trees. Likely North Florida or Southern Georgia. There is sandy soil and the trees look to be longleaf pines. The height measures: Frame: 25" Painting: 20". The width measures: Frame: 29" Painting: 24". There is picture wire on the back for hanging.
PLEASE NOTE: Overall good intact condition, no losses detected. The front of the frame has some dings and wear, the wood on the back of the frame is unstained. The back could use some additional nails to secure the painting in the frame.
