Miniature Impressionist Seascape Harbor Painting Signed Watercolor Gouache
Welcome! Presenting a vintage miniature gouache & watercolor harbor seascape painting on paper, matted and framed under glass in a black painted metal frame measuring 8 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches long. The painting itself measures 5 3/8 inches wide by 3 inches long. It features a charming impressionist image of a harbor seascape with fishing boats and whitewashed houses or cottages along the far shore. It has a sort of Italian or Greek look to it. It is signed on the lower left, but the signature is illegible. I'm not sure of the age, but my guess is circa mid 20th century. To save money, it will be shipped padded and wrapped in a Priority Flat Rate envelope.
PLEASE NOTE: This painting is offered AS-IS. The old tape on the back of the paper has dried out and come loose, so the painting is held to the mat only by the pressure of the framing. There is some muddiness to the sky on the upper right, where it looks as if some of the paint may have been affected by moisture. There is paint bleed on the back of the paper. There is some wear to the black paint of the frame. Overall good condition.
