This book brings together, in a single volume, a compendium of maps sources which can be used as a practical aid to those who enjoy being about in the outdoors world beyond the confines of urban life. It will help the user locate practical and useful maps, enabling him to enjoy the outdoors safely.
In the course of my outdoor activities over the past thirty years, I have found that locating updated maps of a specific type and scale is often a tedious task. In fact, in some cases it has taken me over six months to obtain a specific map, while obtaining maps for regions other than the English speaking nations has taken up to two years.
Here is a source book of location of maps for all over the world and a Glossary of Selected Cartographic terms.
