Description

These well-branched plants are quite compact, reaching 5 to 6 feet in height, and are very productive! This is classic okra that has been trusted by gardeners for many years! Long, spicy, and very fleshy pods of red burgundy color with a soft texture, are tasty and subtly flavored. For best flavor and quality, they are harvested at 3 to 4 inches. Plants begin bearing fruit 55 days after germination when they are about a foot tall and will yield before frost if harvested regularly (3 to 4 days later). Packed with valuable nutrients, this okra has a mild flavor that many be compared to eggplant and asparagus.
