I've never seen a scarf made in hommage to a sports figure before. This all silk scarf (and high quality silk too) has nicely hand rolled hem and is completely printed with symbols of Wayne Gretzky's life. I can only assume this was made when he retired from the Los Angeles Kings.
Some of the symbols are a hockey player with Kings and 99 on his jersey, a Ford car, what are probably scenes from Wayne's Canadian home town, a truck or it could be a zamboni, world maps, and an office tower with a stylized Z on top. The Z also dominates each corner. This has no tags and doesn't look to be used. It is 34 inches square.
This is a great item or gift for the female hockey fan or hockey widow. The colors are lavender, several shades of blue and bluish violet. The Z is almost pure purple. My camera doesn't do blues well. None of the electric blue is in the scarf. This scarf is so subtle. I bought it without realizing what it was. I was taken in by the very pretty color scheme. This is a very wearable scarf and not just on hockey night.
