Heuchera 'Caramel' is a revolution in heuchera color. This special coral bells features bright yellow-orange leaves with a fuzzy texture. The underside of the foliage is purple-red in color. The first big introduction from Thierry Delabroye of France. 'Caramel' has been described as the best perennial introduction to come out of France. Differs from 'Marmalade' by its fuzzy foliage and its yellow tones. PP#16560.
This plant is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. The villosa species is a robust grower with an increased tolerance of high heat and humidity over other species. Most villosas produce flowers in midsummer, though they are usually grown more for their fantastic foliage. H. villosa is native to the southeastern United States. If you live in the south this plant is a great choice for your garden!
MATURE HEIGHT: Foliage 12". In bloom 14".
MATURE SPREAD: 12-15".
HARDINESS ZONES: 4,5,6,7,8,9.
FLOWER: Cream, mid season.
SUN EXPOSURE: Sun to shade. (part sun to shade in the South)
SIZE SHIPPED: 2.5" pot. (plants shipped to California may be bare root and trimmed)
Coral Bells are wonderful hardy perennials (they come back each year). As with most perennials they grow best in well draining soil.
