Hosta 'Dancing With Dragons'
Hosta 'Dancing with Dragons'. This beautiful blue hosta positively dances when you look at it. Heart-shaped leaves have margins that are heavily rippled and give the hosta an overall wavy appearance. As an added bonus, 'Dancing with Dragons' holds its beautiful blue color throughout the season. Near white flowers top the habit in late summer. (Walter's Gardens, Inc.) PP#32040.

Did you know... Blue hostas are actually green hostas with a waxy covering on the leaves that gives them the wonderful blue color. The "blueness" of a blue hosta depends on the plant age, hosta variety and the location the blue hosta is planted or kept. Sunlight slowly melts the wax off the leaves turning them back to green, thus a shadier location will protect the blue color longer into the growing season. Blue hostas always re-emerge the next year with a new waxy coating, thus making them blue again. Young blue hostas often only develop the wax after a year or more of growing.
