De-nol®, 120 mg, antiulcer with bactericidal action on Helicobacter pylori Astellas.
It also has anti-inflammatory and astringent action. In the acidic environment of the stomach, it forms insoluble bismuth oxychloride and citrate, as well as chelating compounds with a protein substrate in the form of a protective film on the surface of ulcers and erosions. Increasing the synthesis of prostaglandin e, the formation of mucus and the secretion of bicarbonates, stimulates the activity of cytoprotective mechanisms, increases the resistance of the gastrointestinal mucosa to the action of pepsin, hydrochloric acid, enzymes and bile salts. This leads to the accumulation of epidermal growth factor in the defect zone. Reduces the activity of pepsin and pepsinogen.
Pharmacokinetics:
Bismuth tripotassium dicitrate is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. However, a small amount of bismuth can get into the systemic circulation. It is mainly excreted in the faeces. A small amount of bismuth obtained in plasma is excreted by the kidneys.
Indication (s):
Gastric and duodenal ulcers in the acute phase ( including Helicobacter pylori-associated ); chronic gastritis and duodenitis in the acute phase (including Helicobacter pylori-associated); irritable bowel syndrome , mainly with symptoms of diarrhea; functional dyspepsia, not associated with organic gastrointestinal diseases.
Posology and method of administration:
Adults and children over 4 years-inside 2-4 times / day 30 minutes before meals. The dose depends on the age of the patient.
Treatment lasts 4-8 weeks. Do not take bismuth preparations for the next 8 weeks.
For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori, the use of tricotassium bismuth dicitrate in combination with anti-Helicobacter pylori antibacterial agents is recommended.
The tablets are taken 30 minutes before a meal with a small amount of water. The duration of treatment is 4-8 weeks. Do not use bismuth-containing medicines for the next 8 weeks.
For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori, the use of de-nol in combination with other antibacterial agents with anti-Helicobacter activity is recommended.
Adverse reaction:
On the part of the digestive system: transient effects are possible-nausea, vomiting, frequent stools, constipation.
Dermatological reactions: skin rash, pruritus.
From the central nervous system: long-term use in high doses-encephalopathy associated with the accumulation of bismuth in the central nervous system.
Special instructions:
Do not use for more than 8 weeks.
During treatment, it is not recommended to exceed the established daily doses in adults and children.
At the end of treatment at recommended doses, the concentration of the active substance in the blood plasma does not exceed 3-58 µg / L, and poisoning is observed only at a concentration exceeding 100 µg / l.
Against the background of the application stool may be stained black due to the formation of bismuth sulfide. Sometimes there is a slight darkening of the tongue.
The efficacy of bismuth tripotassium dicitrate may be altered by other medicinal products, as well as food and fluids, in particular antacids, milk, fruit and fruit juices.
Contraindications:
Severe renal impairment, pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to bismuth tripotassium dicitrate.
Use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is contraindicated.
