This is an attractive ashtray/dish with fine enameling on copper. It features an Asian art theme of flowers, leaves, buds and a bird. Swirls and curlicues decorate the shoulder and rim. The design elements are not inlaid as with cloisonne, but hand painted. Colors are pink, lavender and green on white in the center; shoulder is yellow; rim is blue with pink and yellow flower buds. The base material is copper and has been enameled in pink; it is unmarked as to maker. Diameter: 4¾ inches; depth: ¾ inch. In very good vintage condition. This charming dish could also be used for pot pourri, change, jewelry or other trinkets.
