Growing Parris Island cos is no different than growing any lettuce plant. Seeds can be sown directly in the garden and will mature in about 65 to 70 days. They should be planted in rows set about 36 inches (91 cm.) apart and thinned so that plants are no closer than 12 inches (31 cm.)
Parris Island is a popular variety of Romaine Lettuce, and is recommended for its crispy, flavorful leaves. At maturity (typically 70-75 days), the leaves can reach heights of 10" or so, with a dark outer coloring and white heart lower down the head.
Space plants 8-10" apart, with 12-16" between rows. Lettuce grows best in full sun, though excessive heat can cause plants to bolt to seed, or leaves to wilt.. . . . .364011234020!]
