Littleleaf Goji (Lycium Exsertum)
This lesser known cultivar is native to the United States and similar to its cousin yields profuse small pink to lavender colored flowers followed by abundant bright red edible goji berries. This thorny, spiny shrub can grow up to 6 feet tall and is found in the low North American deserts of the United States within the states of Arizona and New Mexico. This desert plant is very drought resistant and just like its common goji berry cousin the berries can be eaten fresh, cooked, or dried. These berries were eaten in great quantities by Native Americans. Germinates in 2 - 6 weeks

These edible berries are red in color, sweet and tasty. Common names include Littleleaf Goji Berry, Littleleaf Wolfberry, Arizona Desert Thorn, Arizona Desert-Thorn, Thornberry, Goji berries, Wolf berries, Gojis, Wolfberry, Desert Wolf Berry, and Desert Gojiberry. When fully ripe, they can be eaten fresh or dried. They can be added to various dishes or drinks e.g. tea.
