Internationally known as educator, author, radio commentator and nutrition consultant, Mr. Fredericks, who is currently working for his doctorate, received his M.A. in Public Health Education from New York University in 1949 and his B.A. in 1931 after completing a fellowship at the University of Alabama. He is a member of the honorary societies Phi Beta Kappa, Rho Theta Alpha and Omicron Omega Nu.
Executive Director of Nutrition Surveys, Inc., New York, Mr. Fredericks is simultaneously retained by radio station WMGM as Public Health Educator and was attached to the faculty of New York University's School of Education and Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation, where he has taught the chemistry of foods and nutrition. He is also an instructor in post-graduate nutrition for dentists under the auspices of the N. Y. 10th District Dental Society, and has contributed his services to the faculties of CCNY, Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, Columbia College of Pharmacy, Howard University Medical School, Presbyterian Medical Center, Bronx Hospital, Morrisania Hospital, the American Red Cross and many other nursing schools, hospitals, clinical medical and dental societies, colleges and universities.
Throughout his adult lifetime of specialized concentration on the vital subject of nutrition, this busy young man (Mr. Fredericks is in his very early 40's) has accumulated an impressive number of accolades for services rendered to the public, health agencies, hospitals and similar organizations. Among his honors are citations from the Department of Oral Surgery of the Queens General Hospital; Brooklyn Philanthropic League; Jewish Sanitarium and Hospital for Chronic Diseases; American Veterans' Committee; Women's American O.R.T., and the New York-New Jersey Apicultural Board.
Many of Mr. Fredericks' radio scripts have been collected and transcribed into Braille by the Library of Congress and the American Red Cross. His broadcasts have been listed as "essential listening" by the Women's National Radio Council.
Among Mr. Fredericks' previous publications are "Lessons in Living" and "Living Should Be Fun" as well as numerous articles and papers in the popular and professional press.
Married, and the father of two children whose exploits are beloved by his vast radio audience, Mr. Fredericks practices personally the sage counsel he gives readers and listeners in order that they may enjoy a fuller, longer, more healthful and merrier life.
