Passionfruit seeds x 5 - Passiflora Antioquiensis (Red Banana Passionfruit)
Extremely rare Australian grown seeds.
Passiflora antioquiensis (pronounced An-tee-oh-kwee-en-sis) is related to the Banana Passionfruit (Passiflora mollissima), however it is a smaller vine and not invasive like the other species.
The 12 cm wide flowers are stunning and appear in winter and again in summer. The decorative blooms stay open for about 3 or 4 days and are pollinated by bees, wasps and small birds.
The big, yellow fruits ripen around 6 months later. Unlike most passionfruits, which tend to be tart and not very sweet, this one is the opposite – nicely sweet and moderately tart.
It prefers partial sun, protection from frost and likes moist, well-drained soil and regular watering and feeding.
Please note international shipping is NOT available.
