Monarda media x 20 seeds.
Beautiful hot pink tinted flowers. Great for tea and potpourri. Purple Bergamot grows upwards to 3+ feet high on typical 4-angled mint family green stems (reddish with full sun at maturity). This vibrantly of Monarda starts blooming earlier than Monarda fistulosa so it’s great to plant these two together, - the long bloom times of the two species overlap and look attractive.
Direct sow in early spring. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur within 10-20 days at 15-20C. When the seedlings can safely be handled, thin or transplant for wider spacing. For an early start, start the seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost and transplant outdoors.
