Antique Copper Luster Mini Pitcher 19th C. England
This miniature copper luster pitcher was made in England in the mid 1800's. It features a cream-colored band with hand painted flowers. Lusterware is a type of pottery with a metallic glaze that gives the effect of iridescence; the result was objects for the middle class with shapes that resembled silver tea services. This little pitcher, or creamer, has a lovely shape with a delicate spout, handle and foot. Condition is very good with no cracks, chips, or repairs; there are a few tiny light spots where the glaze didn't take; also, there may be light scratches from moderate use.
