TURKS TURBAN is a very old variety of pumpkin originating in France. It was first listed in seed catalogues in 1845 but is known to predate 1820. The fruit is the perfect turban shape in a vibrant colour mix of red,orange, green and white, with no two the same. The rind becomes very hard, which makes them a long keeper. Their eye catching appearance makes them brilliant for displays, especially in provedore stores, food festivals etc. They are certainly edible, the flesh is creamy yellow, moist, firm, mild but tasty. The seeds are mostly in the top, so our neighbour cuts it off and uses the base as a vessel for his curried pumpkin soup. The fruit can reach 3kg but around half this is the norm in around 100 days. This variety does not produce many seeds. Min. 6 SEEDS. THIS SEED IS FRESHLY HARVESTED.
