Description

Roselle is an attractive annual shrub up to 1.5 m tall with large reddish-lobed leaves and attractive yellow hibiscus-like flowers. Rosella is easy to grow, with few pest problems, vigorous and prolific. Most soil types are suitable, as long as they are rich and well drained. A lot of water is needed to maintain growth, flowering and fruit development, useful mulch. Only three to four plants are needed to make a good crop. Plants usually begin cultivation when they are about 3 months old and planting may continue for 9 months or until the first frost. The fruit is ready to be picked about 3 weeks after flowering, when it is 2 - 3 cm wide at its widest part.
