This stunning Massive Azimuthal Equidistant Flat Earth Map is from the Italian Mapmaker cartographer Monte Urbano in 1587 in Milan.

This colorful and very detailed map from 1587 was originally 60 separate map sheets, which have then been assembled into a Flat Earth planisphere. more than nine feet by nine feet when fully assembled. It is a great decorative piece but due to the reduction in size, some of the writing is not readable!

Zoom into the images and marvel at the level of detail on this map. There are sea beasties and other mythical figures. Ships. Compass roses. Anecdotes and important notes. And, well, just look at the massively distorted Antarctica littered with fantastical beasts!
