The Wildflower Seed West Australian Christmas Tee Nuytsia floribunda is named after the early explorer Pieter Nuyts who almost discovered Australia. The WA Christmas tree illuminates the WA coastline around November and December every year. It makes the tree showy with its large golden flower spears. Interestingly, the plant is semi-parasitic and takes a small proportion of nutrients from the host plant around it (this does not damage the host plant). Reports indicate host plants such as couch grass or Crepe Myrtle can be used successfully.
