It produces large fruits similar to pumpkins that, despite not being edible, are used as food for cattle and due to its hard-light shell, it is widely used to make all kinds of objects such as bowls or even musical instruments. It is a hard tree that can withstand even stony soils and is not very demanding when it comes to watering.
It is recommended to leave the seeds to soak for 24 hours, then sow without burying more than 0.5cm in a substrate that drains well in a warm, bright and sheltered place.
