Asian tree species of the Rosaceae family, ideal for ornamentation or as rootstocks, it is usually used to make bonsai that in the hands of expert people give rise to true works of art. It is a fruit tree up to 15 meters tall that produces small yellowish or red edible apples, it produces very aromatic white flowers.
When sowing, it is recommended to put the seeds in a sandy mixture, either based on perlite or river stones, moistened for two months in the fridge (a process known as cold stratification), then remove the seeds and sow them less than 1cm from depth on a mixture that drains well in a bright, sheltered and warm place. Germination is irregular and usually begins in a couple of months. It is recommended to plant the seedlings in individual pots when they have several pairs of leaves and gradually expose them to the sun to harden the seedlings.
