Geographical origin: Agave very localized, on the coastal dunes of the Gulf of California, in Mexico, on both sides of the border between the states of Sonora and Sinaloa.
Agave aktites is a rare species but highly recognizable by its Puya (Bromeliad) leaf-like leaves.
The adult rosette measures 60 to 110cm in diameter for a height of 40 to 70cm. It presents a small heart perched on a short and wide trunk.
The leaves are gray to glaucous, linear and narrow from 2 to 4cm, slightly in gutter. They are provided with small thorns in hooks directed towards the end of the leaf, rather regularly spaced.
The terminal spine measures 12 to 20 mm in length. She is subulated, blunt.
Agave aktites rejects little.
