The Azérolier is a slightly thorny, slow-growing tree that can measure up to 8 meters in height.
Its alternate triangular deciduous leaves measure 3 to 7 cm and have 3 or 5 toothed lobes. They are shiny light green above and greyish pubescent below.
The corymbose spring flowers are white
An adult tree can produce up to 25 kg of fruit per year.
