Super Stenocarpus Sinuatus Seeds Pcs 5 Fire Wheel g589 Firewheel Tree Samen
Introduced in Europe in 1830, Stenocarpus sinuatus is a rare tree native to northeastern Australia (Queensland and New South Wales in the rainforest)
This plant is very ornamental with its foliage reminiscent of that of the American oak, red when young, as well as with its red flowers and original fruits. Its habit is narrow and erect. Its growth is slow.
This tree will be reserved for the most sheltered area of the Côte d'Azur (zone 10) in frost-free regions (however it supports 0°C in dry soil). Elsewhere, it will be reserved for the temperate greenhouse, or grown in a large pot and brought out during the summer months.
Leaves evergreen, alternate, simple, petiolate, entire oblong or deeply pennate on the same plant, leathery, 40 cm long, red when the buds burst then becoming dark green, shiny.
Inflorescences in axillary umbels 15-20 cm in diameter, made up of 12 to 20 tubular flowers, scarlet-red, with erect pistils forming a crown above the inflorescence. Flowering lasts from August to November
The fruits are leathery and narrow follicles, grouped in the shape of a "sun" around a central axis.
