Super Elegia Capensis Rare Seeds Pcs 4 Restio Horsetail
The plant grows on a creeping underground, branched rhizome. From this rhizome emerge vertical stems fluted, like a bamboo, and branched at each node into numerous twigs, which are arranged in dense whorls. The restio does not present a leaf. At the beginning of the growth of the fine branches, a large papery bract envelops each whorl. The plant is then very decorative, it is used in floristry at this stage. The large papery bracts produce a soft, intriguing rustle as they dry.
The culms and the secondary branches lengthen and then give it the appearance of a large horsetail. The canes are generally 1m 50 high, but well watered, they reach up to 3 m. The plant reaches 1 m in height for the first year, and 1.50 m after 3 years. In width, if Elegia capensis is not limited, it widens to 3-4 m.
