Arisaema tortuosum is the largest of the Himalayan species with a beautifully mottled stem and a white-streaked green spathe.

The striped flower stalk emerges in early June and is surrounded by two tropical-looking lobed green leaves. As the leaves unfurl, the green flowers open to reveal a long, cord-like tongue sticking out of the flower's mouth and reaching 30cm in length.
