Best sewn in spring & summer, with a growing height of around 40cm.
They are ideal in both pots, or in beds.
Sewing can be direct to the ground, however to optimise growth and germination, i find that punnets or containers in frost tender regions are best. It helps to germinate them quickly, so they can be planted once frosts subside.
Beds pr pots should be rish in organic matter. If you do plant and decide to use a slow release fertaliser, its best to wait a couke of weeks after planting so that the roots are better estiblished.
