The active substance of Dolgit is ibuprofen, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) - an enzyme responsible for the formation of endogenous inflammatory mediators, fever-inducing factors and compounds that stimulate pain endings. However, ibuprofen treatment is symptomatic because it does not eliminate the cause that increases COX activity.
Indications:
Local treatment of muscle pain.
Pain in the course of degenerative joint diseases, rheumatic diseases of peripheral joints and the spine.
Inflammatory changes in periarticular tissues.
Painful shoulder stiffness, pain in the lumbar spine.
Post-traumatic or post-accident changes (e.g. bruises, sprains).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
Hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Use on open wounds, mucous membranes and around the eyes.
Age under 14.
Third trimester of pregnancy.
Women in the first and second trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding should consult a doctor before using the preparation.
Dosage:
The preparation is only for external use on the area of the body affected by inflammation or pain.
The recommended dose is a 4-10 cm long strip of cream (2-5 g of cream, equivalent to 100-250 mg ibuprofen) 3-4 times a day. If necessary, the frequency can be increased, but a minimum interval of 4 hours should be maintained between subsequent applications.
The daily dose should not exceed 12 g of cream (600 mg ibuprofen).
If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 10 days, please consult your doctor.
Side effects:
The use of Dolgit cream is usually not accompanied by side effects. If they occur, they usually have the nature of skin lesions, e.g. redness, tingling at the site of application, etc.
Additional information:
The preparation is not intended for use under an occlusive dressing.
