It also has superior electrical properties as an insulator and a dielectric, and can support an electrostatic field while dissipating little energy in the form of heat. Capacitors that are suited for high frequency and radio frequency employ muscovite, the main Abhrak used by the electrical sector. Phlogopite Abrak is utilised in applications where a combination of high-heat stability and electrical characteristics is required since it is stable at higher temperatures (up to 900 °C (1,650 °F)).
